Plot
We begin our story with the player.
Generally, Meeps have access to a strong public school system and government food handouts, but his creation is undocumented due to a factory log slip-up that erased hundreds of entries. In effect, he has been orphaned. As a result, he travels from camp to camp, city to city, rifling through supplies and taking what he can carry. So he goes on with life, untrained and unschooled, until a random passerby catches him going through the rations and promises not to turn him in so long as he agrees to train with him.
Le'arde teaches the player how to fight and rewards his efforts with a wooden sword and shield. The player continues to train until the recruiters come to his town. He tearfully parts with Le'arde and chooses a faction and a profession. Here, the plotline splits into two different paths, depending on which faction the player chooses: Allied or Banded.

Allied
Utvantos and Tara are in need of skilled soldiers in their attempt to completely eliminate another faction from Pluto. The player should know that should he fail in his duties, there will be little mercy, but his success will be rewarded handily.
Naturally, of course, the player starts at the bottom of the food chain, kicked around by his superiors. He begins to wonder if joining the Allied forces was the right decision, but he knows that deserters are punished even more than slackers, and he continues to work hard. After winning a competition in his group, he is given a promotion, now possessing the right to lead his own group.
He is directed to lead strikes against the Band, all the while keeping his eye on the prize: another promotion. His strikes are mainly successful, until he meets a new figure, the champion of the Band, who parries every offensive he leads. The player begins to feel pressure from his superiors from his failures, and wonders how he will eliminate this threat to his bid for power.

Banded
The Band knows well Utvantos' plans to eliminate one of their constituents, and know even better that once one of them falls, it is very likely that more will soon follow. Even Almara has agreed to put aside its xenophobia for the time being and join the effort to fight back.
The player is entered into a training program wherein he duels with his comrades to improve his hand to hand combat abilities, while attending the Academy of Magic and Gunnery, present in all of the Banded factions. After graduating at the top of his class, he is given his own group of sub-graduates. The process is expedited because of the Allied's swell in numbers; otherwise, there would be no sub-graduates.
He fights against the roving Allied parties, achieving success with a decent rate. He now begins to lead counterstrikes, ambushing Allied camps and disabling their lead. For this, he is promoted once more, to lead a team of graduates. Will he prove successful in the war against Utvantos?
